Submitting an article or a proposal to the Policy Initiatives Institute is an amazing opportunity for a variety of reasons!

Want to submit a proposal or an article?

This option is for people that have already authored an article related to policies in any of our covered areas but would rather submit it for publishing rather than join the team. This option is also for people that have any information that should be published in one of our articles. Please note that you will be credited with submitting any information used in any publishing on our site.

Rules that we abide by!

  1. You hold all original copyrights to the materials submitted or have obtained written permission from the copyright owner to make these materials available. 
  2. Any use of your previously published work must be disclosed to PII staff and its inclusion is at their sole discretion. 
  3. You agree not to write anything that may be intentionally damaging, untrue, or misleading about the PII or other institutions, people, or businesses. You agree not to use the blog to promote or endorse commercial products or services for which you will be compensated. 
  4. You understand that submitting materials to the PII does not guarantee that the materials will be reviewed, accepted, or published. Further, you understand and agree that the PII reserves the right to:
    1. edit or rewrite your blog post(s) for grammar, punctuation, style;
    2. mark your article as an Op-Ed (if fitting); 
    3. decline publishing your article;
    4. request for additional information/research to be added to your article. 
  5. ​You understand and agree that the PII reserves the right to edit or remove any statements or photographs that are in violation of privacy, unnecessarily graphic, vulgar or profane, defamatory, threatening, illegal, promotes unethical or dangerous behavior or practices, plagiarized, or are culturally or racially inappropriate or insensitive, or politically inflammatory. 
  6. You agree to credit and link to the Policy Initiatives Institute if you republish your blog post, in whole or in part and in any format. Further, if you distribute your blog in print, it must clearly be identified as an excerpt from your PII blog. 
  7. To the extent permitted under applicable law, you hereby grant the PII a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to display, reproduce, disseminate, adapt, modify, annotate, archive, and otherwise use your submitted materials for any purpose determined by PII, including promotions and advertising. This grant extends to all traditional, digital, and electronic media. Further, you grant PII the right to associate your name, image, and biographical data in connection with your submitted content. 
  8. You release and forever discharge PII staff from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of the submission, including but not limited to, any claims for invasion of privacy or defamation​.
